The program awards an EPS engineering degree, and itseducation and research are developed at the UM6P Institute of Applied Physics.

Job description: Field: Nonlinear Optics, Second Harmonic Generation, Optical Benches, etc.

Experimental Responsibilities:

Lead experiments on nonlinear optical phenomena, particularly second harmonic generation, and explore related topics such as third-order nonlinearities, optical parametric amplification, multi-photon absorption, Kerr effect, nonlinear waveguiding, plasmon-enhanced nonlinearities, and quantum optics.

Design and implement experimental setups to test and analyze the nonlinear behavior of materials using optical benches.

Supervise students conducting hands-on experiments to study and develop nonlinear optical materials for various applications, including photonic devices.

Teaching Responsibilities: Introduction to Optics: Basics of light propagation, wave optics, interference, diffraction, and polarization.
Advanced Optics: Nonlinear optics, optical phenomena in advanced materials, and their applications in real- world devices
Experimental Optics: Hands-on laboratory sessions to design, perform, and analyze optical experiments.
Research Methods in Optics: Introduction to experimental techniques and data analysis in optical research.

Requirements:

  • PhD in Experimental Physics, with a focus on nonlinear optics.
  • Experience in experimental research on nonlinear optical materials and optical characterization techniques.
  • Familiarity with the design and operation of optical benches and spectroscopic equipment.

Teaching Skills: Ability to teach at various levels (undergraduate, graduate, doctoral) and use modern pedagogical methods.
Research Skills: Ability to conduct high-impact and independent research and contribute to collaborative projects.
Communication Skills: Excellent skills in communicating research findings to diverse audiences, writing scientific papers, and presenting at conferences.
Languages: Proficiency in scientific English (both oral and written).
